Kenyan floods have caused 88 deaths

On March 24 local time, the Kenyan government issued a statement saying the death toll from the floods in the country has risen to 88 people. The statement said that since early March, flooding triggered by heavy rains has affected at least 21 of the 47 counties nationwide; two rivers have burst their banks, and more than 34,000 people have been displaced. The Kenyan government and the Kenyan Red Cross have stepped up emergency relief to the worst-hit areas, rescuing residents trapped in the disaster area, and relocating affected families to safe places.
