Upper Dir Child Abduction Turns Tragic As Police Arrest Cousin For Murder

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) In Upper Dir district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, police have solved the blind kidnapping case of a child, Muhammad Ayan, and arrested the brutal killer.

According to police, the complainant Jawadullah, son of Tehsil Khan and a resident of Dobando, registered a report at Dir City Police Station on March 9, 2026, stating that his nephew Muhammad Ayan, son of Rehman Hussain (approximately 7–8 years old), had suddenly gone missing.

After the report was registered, police launched an investigation.

Police said that the child’s parents were receiving ransom calls from different phone numbers, which created fear and panic in the area.

Taking notice of the incident, District Police Officer Upper Dir Aslam Nawaz (PSP) formed a special investigation team under the supervision of SP Investigation Muhammad Ilyas Khan.

The team included SDPO Circle Dir Musharraf Khan, SDPO Circle Wari Fakhar Alam Khan, DSP Investigation Akhtar Ali, and SHO Dir City Police Station Johar Ali, along with other officers.

According to police, the investigation team used modern scientific methods and technical tracing, and through continuous operations managed to solve the blind case within 72 hours.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the suspect who abducted the child was actually his cousin (paternal uncle’s son), who kidnapped and murdered the child due to family disputes and greed.

Police said the suspect has been arrested, and the child’s body has also been recovered on his identification. Further investigation is underway, and the suspect is being presented in court for physical remand.
