Hello everyone, this is Banliang Finance’s Zhongguancun Forum hot-word quick commentary. I’m Zhang Xin, host of Banliang Finance’s XIN Consumer column, and I’m at the 2026 Zhongguancun Forum annual conference现场.

Today, the hot word I’ll help you understand is—global open innovation cooperation.

Openness for mutual benefit is the forum’s distinctive international backdrop. This year’s forum brings together scientists, entrepreneurs, and international organizations around the world, working together to tackle technology challenges faced by humanity as a whole.

The forum focuses on cutting-edge areas such as 6G, brain-computer interfaces, cell and gene therapies, quantum technology, and lunar-Mars space development, gathering global wisdom through themed discussions and joint R&D initiatives.

So far, 332 overseas R&D centers have been established in Beijing. International institutions such as the University of Cambridge and Germany’s Spathbacher Technology Transfer Center are deeply involved, forming a new pattern in which local innovation and global resources are deeply integrated.

More than 500 domestic and overseas projects have held pitch presentations, and more than 20 cross-border technology matchmaking events have been conducted—opening up a global channel for scientific research outcomes to reach industrial applications. At the same time, we gather international tech organizations, release cutting-edge achievements, and participate in the formulation of global technology rules, continuously strengthening China’s innovation voice through open cooperation.

With open innovation gathering together, and cooperation shaping the future—this is the new global science-and-technology landscape seen by the younger generation.
