Shenzhen Airport launches passenger routes to Central Asia; 170+ foreign passengers enter visa-free
(China News Service, Shenzhen, March 30) (Suo Youwei, Zeng Hui) Uzbek Airlines flight HY575, arriving from Tashkent, Uzbekistan, landed at Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport at 7:50 a.m. on March 30. Nearly 200 passengers on board entered the country quickly under efficient security support from the Shenzhen Airport Entry-Exit Inspection Station of the Shenzhen Border Inspection Station, including more than 170 foreign passengers who entered visa-free.
It is understood that this route is the first passenger route operated by Uzbek Airlines in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area. It is also the first newly launched international passenger route this year at Shenzhen Airport. This marks that Shenzhen has established direct flights to Central Asia’s core cities, fills the gap in routes reaching Central Asia, and builds a more efficient and convenient air corridor to expand collaboration under the “Belt and Road” initiative for the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area.

“On this trip, I plan to visit Shenzhen and Guangzhou for about 12 days.” Uzbek passenger POLINA said: “The visa-free policy is really convenient for us. This newly opened route is also very comfortable and quick.”
Chinese passenger Mr. Yan said that he works in the technology field in Uzbekistan. This direct flight route to Shenzhen is very convenient; it only takes about 6 hours to travel back and forth between China and Uzbekistan.
To ensure the smooth launch of the first flight, the Shenzhen Airport Entry-Exit Inspection Station formulated a special duty plan, implementing verification with personnel divided by areas. At the same time, it added foreign-language specialists to provide services such as corridor guidance and policy explanations, striving to create a good border-crossing environment.

“As of March 29, since the beginning of this year, we have verified more than 1,000 entries of foreign nationals from Central Asia, with the number of passengers from Uzbekistan ranking among the top. We believe that with the opening of the Tashkent route, the number of people traveling between China and Central Asia will further grow.” Xu Xiaolong, First-Class Sergeant of the Duty Team Six of the Shenzhen Airport Entry-Exit Inspection Station under the Shenzhen Border Inspection Station, said.
It is reported that starting from March 29, Shenzhen Airport began implementing the summer–autumn season flight schedule. The planned number of flights per week is close to 9,400, including nearly 1,200 passenger flights per day. The overall operating scale has grown steadily compared with the previous season. Shenzhen Airport also plans to introduce airlines such as Malaysia Airlines and Thai Airways to continuously improve the international route network and strengthen the radiation capability of its international aviation hub.
