The 2026 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Meeting—Brain-Computer Interface Innovation and Development Forum was held in Beijing on the day in question. At the forum, the Zhongguancun (Haidian) brain-computer interface industry cluster officially unveiled its牌匾.

Haidian District Vice Mayor Lin Hang said that, according to the national “15th Five-Year Plan” strategy for development, Haidian District has defined two major industrial development orientations: “an AI-enabled pilot area for the pharmaceutical and health industry” and “a pilot demonstration zone for innovative development in the interdisciplinary medical engineering sector.” As a key direction for the country’s forward-looking layout of future industries, the brain-computer interface industry has already clustered 27 core companies in Haidian, accounting for nearly 60% of the total number of core companies nationwide. It has formed distinctive comprehensive advantages in areas such as algorithms, computing power, and clinical data, and has initially built an end-to-end innovation ecosystem spanning “basic research—technical breakthroughs—product development—clinical application.”

During the achievements release session, 15 cutting-edge brain-computer interface technology achievements were showcased in a centralized manner, including Zhiran Medical’s “High-Throughput Wireless Invasive Brain-Computer Interface System Based on Stretchable Flexible Electrodes,” and Shenwu Technology’s “ND Series EEG Acquisition System,” among others. This demonstrated China’s latest progress in breakthroughs in foundational brain-computer interface research, tackling key technologies, and clinical translation and application, and will help drive the brain-computer interface industry toward high-precision, low-trauma, and intelligent development.

Next, Haidian District will establish the “Zhongguancun (Haidian) brain-computer interface industry cluster” around the Qijiqing Town. Relying on platforms and carriers such as the Yiyuan Industrial Base, the Qijiqing Life Sciences Park, and the Hangxin land parcel, it will focus on integrated innovation in “AI + brain-computer interface.” It will prioritize efforts in four areas: “strengthening coordination, building platforms, attracting capital, and promoting transformation.” It aims that by 2030, it will gather 100 innovative small and medium-sized enterprises and build a world-class, differentiated and specialized “AI + brain-computer interface” industrial innovation highland.
