CAS Space's YH-2 Rocket Successfully Launches on Its First Flight; Multiple Commercial Rocket Models to Conduct Maiden Flights Within the Year

【Caixin Global】 At 19:00 on March 30, the China Academy of Space Technology (CAST) aerospace “Lijian-2” Long March One launch vehicle · the International Textile Capital train number successfully launched in the Dongfeng Commercial Aerospace Innovation Test Zone, sending the new Yuan 01 satellite, the new Yuan 02 satellite, and the Tianshi Satellite 01 into their designated orbits.

This was the first flight of CAST’s medium-to-large reusable rocket “Lijian-2.” It uses liquid oxygen and kerosene fuel, has a total length of 53 meters, and a payload capacity of 8 tons to a 500-kilometer sun-synchronous orbit, as well as a payload capacity of 12 tons to a 200-kilometer low-Earth orbit.

In February, CAST disclosed that “Lijian-2” had already been approved for four launches within the year. Additionally, its solid launch vehicle “Lijian-1” plans to conduct no fewer than 8 launches this year, including two at sea, and aims to add 1 to 2 more missions, setting a new record for launch frequency within the year.
