2026 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference Concludes: Innovation and Technology Integration Play a New Movement in Development

On March 29, the five-day 2026 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference concluded. This year’s forum annual conference, themed “Deep Integration of Science and Technology Innovation and Industrial Innovation,” brought together over a thousand guests from more than 100 countries and regions to discuss technology cooperation, share innovation concepts, and jointly promote the development of new-quality productive forces.

Release of 21 major scientific and technological achievements

During the forum, more than 350 organizations brought over 560 new technologies and products, showcasing innovative achievements across different fields of science and technology. AR glasses that can translate more than 140 languages, and a refrigeration marvel that rapidly cools electronic devices—making intelligent life within reach; a “robot performance troupe” that plays music, and an orderly “robot café for meals,” making technology even more fun and full of warmth.

On the afternoon of the 29th, 21 major scientific and technological achievements were released in a concentrated manner. Among them, 5 were aimed at the world’s science and technology frontiers, 7 at the economic main battlefield, 4 at the nation’s major development needs, and 5 at the people’s life and health—vividly demonstrating the vigorous vitality of science and technology innovation leading the development of new-quality productive forces.

The completion and trial operation of the “High-Energy Synchronized Radiation Source” have brought China’s synchrotron radiation sources into the official 4.0 high-energy era, achieving a leap from “catching up” to “running ahead”; the world’s first atto-emi (aE)-level spectral imaging chip “Yuheng” has solved, in one stroke, the long-standing problem of the historical inability to achieve both high resolution and high throughput in spectral imaging. The snapshot spectral imaging’s resolution has improved by two orders of magnitude, and its detection efficiency has exceeded that of international comparable equipment by more than one hundred times; the “solidification and sequestration of carbon dioxide deep-sea gas hydrates” technology successfully completed the world’s first-ever trial at ultra-deep water, providing a brand-new feasible pathway for carbon neutrality; the country’s first shoulder-joint replacement surgical robotic system effectively addresses many drawbacks of traditional surgeries, helping grassroots hospitals carry out complex surgeries and comprehensively improving the overall treatment level of advanced-stage shoulder joint diseases in China… achievement after achievement highlights hard-core strength and the value of science and technology for the benefit of humanity.

Core technological breakthroughs are in the future and are promising

The forum annual conference focuses on cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, 6G, and brain-computer interfaces, holding 60 parallel forums to conduct in-depth discussions on technological innovation and industrial applications in related fields.

“Artificial intelligence has become the core engine for high-quality development during the ’15th Five-Year Plan’ and ’the 15th-Five’ period—while China’s artificial intelligence is entering a new stage of large-scale industrial development.” At the “Artificial Intelligence + Industry” forum, Yin Dawei, Vice President of Baidu Intelligent Cloud, said that, currently, the boom in “raising crayfish” is growing explosively, and agent-based applications are accelerating into the market. However, during the process of bringing these agents to real-world use, there are still technical challenges and risks to data security and privacy. Companies therefore need to build defenses from the very beginning of product design.

At the 6G technology and industrial innovation forum, Xu Xiaodong, Vice President of Zhongguancun Fanlian Institute and a professor at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, introduced that 6G will continue to build on 5G’s improvements in bandwidth and speed while expanding the boundaries of user experience. It will establish a three-dimensional communication network covering land, sea, air, and space, providing reliable connectivity for scenarios such as remote areas and high altitudes.

At the brain-computer interface innovation and development forum, Zhao Jizong, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a professor at Tiantan Hospital affiliated with Capital Medical University, said that brain-computer interface technology is developing rapidly and its application areas are gradually expanding. As the world’s first brain-computer product achieving high throughput of more than 100 channels with wireless semi-invasive operation, “Beinao No. 1” has completed implantation in 7 human cases, with patients recovering well and achieving reconstruction of motor and speech functions; “Beinao No. 2” this year will also enter the stage of clinical validation……
