Broadcom expands Kubernetes support with VKS upgrades, open-source contributions and new partnerships

Broadcom is enhancing its Kubernetes support through a multi-pronged strategy announced at KubeCon Europe 2026. Key initiatives include contributing the Velero Kubernetes-native backup project to the CNCF Sandbox, upgrading its VMware vSphere Kubernetes Service (VKS) to simplify operations and improve performance for AI workloads, and expanding partnerships to provide validated integrations. These efforts aim to help enterprises manage the complexity of hybrid/multicloud environments and AI-driven applications by offering more flexibility and operational consistency.
