The Hang Seng Index opened down 419 points at 24,532 points, dipping as much as 542 points early on to a low of 24,409 points. The HSI fell 232 points to 24,719 points, with a turnover of 154.83 billion HKD, while the Tech Index dropped 1.7% to 4,696 points.
