The First China-Russia Logistics Business Forum was held in Moscow.
The first China-Russia Logistics and Business Forum was held on the 16th in Moscow, the Russian capital. The forum, themed “New Opportunities and New Horizons,” brought together representatives from government departments of China and Russia, logistics companies, industry associations, import and export trade entities, and financial institutions to discuss the prospects and opportunities for China-Russia logistics cooperation, among other topics. In his remarks, Zhang Hanhui, Chinese Ambassador to Russia, said that in recent years, China-Russia logistics cooperation has created more favorable conditions for smooth trade between the two countries, coordinated industrial linkages, and closer people-to-people ties, yielding fruitful results. Looking ahead, China-Russia logistics cooperation has great potential; the key is to seize opportunities, ride the momentum, and advance this cooperation toward higher quality and higher levels. Dmitry Biriochevsky, Director of the Department for Economic Cooperation at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that the situation in the Middle East has exposed the fragility of the global economy, trade, and logistics. Russia and China are actively advancing logistics cooperation, which serves as a model for cooperation between countries. Arzbek Koroshev, Energy and Infrastructure Commissioner of the Eurasian Economic Commission, said that at present the global supply chain is undergoing changes, and China’s Belt and Road Initiative has prominent practical significance. Gennady Bessonov, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Interstate Council for Railway Transport, believes that in the future, trade volumes among Russia, China, and the CIS countries will continue to grow, and China-Russia cooperation needs to strengthen connectivity and interconnectivity.
