U.S. President Trump’s envoy Witkoff on the 27th said he believes the United States and Iran will hold talks “this week,” adding, “we are indeed full of hope about that.”

That day, Witkoff said at a business forum in Miami, Florida, “ships are transiting through the Strait of Hormuz,” calling it “a very good sign.” He said Trump hopes to reach a peace agreement.

Witkoff also said the U.S. side has put forward a “15-point plan” to end the fighting, and it is expected that Iran will respond—“this may solve everything.”

The day before, at a cabinet meeting inside the White House, Witkoff confirmed that the U.S. side had delivered the “15-point plan” to Iran through Pakistan. U.S. media reported on the 27th that the intermediaries expected Iran to respond to the “15-point plan” that day. However, Secretary of State Rubio said that day in Paris, France, that the U.S. side had not yet received Iran’s response, though the response “could happen at any time.”

According to a report by U.S. news outlet Axios on the 23rd, Israeli officials said several countries are trying to coordinate a meeting in Islamabad, Pakistan’s capital, between Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Parliament speaker Kalibaf and Witkoff, Trump’s son-in-law Kushner, and U.S. Vice President Vance. The timing could be later this week.
