Sushiro releases statement on food safety incident involving tuna at Mentougou branch: Samples of the same batch of tuna sold at the involved store on that day were sent for testing, with no parasites detected.
On March 23, Sushi Ro announced a statement regarding the safety of tuna products at the Mentougou store.
The statement pointed out that recent customer feedback about the presence of suspected parasite “egg” foreign objects in tuna products at the Mentougou store has caused concern among consumers. After the incident, Sushi Ro took the matter seriously and implemented the following measures: First, an internal investigation was launched immediately to verify the supply chain documents and food safety testing certificates for this batch of ingredients; at the same time, full cooperation was provided to the Market Supervision Administration’s investigation, and communication was maintained with the involved customers, always respecting their legal rights and properly handling related requests.
Currently, the investigation results have been obtained from the Market Supervision Administration. According to the “National Food Safety Standard for Animal Aquatic Products” (GB 10136-2015), which includes parasite inspection methods for ready-to-eat raw animal aquatic products, samples from the same batch of tuna products sold at the store on the day of the incident were collected on-site for testing. The results showed no parasites were detected, meeting national food safety standards.
However, regarding this incident, the discomfort and unpleasant experience caused during dining reflect a shortcoming in Sushi Ro’s service quality. The company sincerely apologizes for this and is conducting self-examination and improvement.
