Trump "Passes the Buck" to U.S. Government Officials as Israel-Iran Conflict Continues
Facing the ongoing war, U.S. President Trump for two consecutive days has blamed the “blame” for the war on U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley.
U.S. President Trump: Only you two (Austin and Milley) seem particularly disappointed. I didn’t want to say it, but I have to. I told Pete (Austin) and Milley that this would be resolved quickly, but look at their reactions. Austin doesn’t want this to end at all. They don’t want peace talks; they are solely focused on winning this war.
The day before, on the 23rd, during a security meeting in Memphis, Trump directly blamed Austin for the possibility of taking military action against Iran.
U.S. President Trump: Pete (Austin), I remember you were the first to speak. You said, “Let’s act; we can’t let Iran have nuclear weapons.”
Mossad Accused of Misleading U.S.-Israel Governments and “Blaming” Again
Recently, Israeli media launched unambiguous attacks on Mossad Director David Barnea, accusing him of misleading the U.S.-Israel governments regarding the potential change of Iran’s regime.
Sources say, “Barnea believes Mossad has the capability to incite ‘riots’ inside Iran within days after launching attacks on Iran, possibly even leading to the fall of the Iranian government.” Barnea submitted this plan to Prime Minister Netanyahu and lobbied U.S. officials during Netanyahu’s visit to the U.S. in January.
In response, The Jerusalem Post stated that Barnea submitted policy proposals and reports following Netanyahu’s instructions, never attempting to push Netanyahu into radical actions beyond his will. Moreover, any reports or information conveyed during his U.S. visit were strictly controlled by Netanyahu.
The Jerusalem Post noted that there is no evidence that Mossad has expressed views different from those publicly stated by the Israeli Defense Forces. The report suggests these anonymous attacks may come from Netanyahu or Trump subordinates, or from the Israeli military, aiming to shift responsibility.
Currently, the Prime Minister’s Office and Mossad have not responded.
