BBK Announces "Fat Transformation" Scorecard, 21 Restructured Supermarket Stores Report 24% YoY Sales Growth in January-February
Recently, according to BBK’s information, on March 24th, BBK’s rotating CEO and supermarket general manager Deng Jing delivered a keynote speech titled “Guided by Faith, Moving Toward a Better Future” at the 2026 Retail Supermarket CEO Summit, sharing the results of BBK’s two-year learning and adaptation from Pingdonglai.
It is reported that BBK completed the renovation of 15 stores in 2024, and another 6 stores in 2025, achieving full profitability for all 21 stores within two years, with all operational data showing significant growth. On the revenue side, from January to February this year, the 21 supermarkets learning from Pingdonglai saw a 24% year-over-year increase in sales; single-store sales rose from 180,000 yuan during the Spring Festival period in 2024 and 670,000 yuan in 2025 to 910,000 yuan, with average monthly store efficiency increasing from 1,203 yuan to 5,371 yuan per square meter. Customer flow and average transaction value increased simultaneously, with customer visits rising from 16.67 million to 49.96 million, and average transaction value increasing from 84.4 yuan to 141 yuan.
Additionally, BBK significantly optimized product operation efficiency, with total gross profit margin increasing from 16.92% to 21%, product turnover rate approaching 95%, and inventory turnover days drastically reduced from 68 days to 19 days, enabling efficient product circulation and precise matching. Costs and labor efficiency also improved on both ends, with personnel cost rate decreasing from 10.57% to 6.76%, and labor productivity increasing from 55,200 yuan to 123,900 yuan, resulting in a notable boost in operational efficiency. Profitability also saw a leap, with pre-tax profit margin turning from -10.36% to a profit of 7.54%, bringing the company back on track.
Deng Jing stated that BBK’s learning from Pingdonglai has moved from the initial stage of scattered, experiential enlightenment to a systematic and standardized 2.0 phase. In the future, BBK will continue to integrate its regional DNA and market characteristics, reconstructing its business logic based on local market environment, supply chain foundation, and talent structure.
