【Securities and Futures Commission】Leung Fung-yee Re-elected as Chair of IOSCO Asia-Pacific Regional Committee
Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission Chief Executive Carrie Lam has been reappointed as Chair of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) Asia-Pacific Regional Committee. Her second two-year term will commence at the IOSCO Annual Conference in May 2026.
Carrie Lam said she is honored to be reappointed as Chair of the Asia-Pacific Regional Committee and looks forward to further strengthening the resilience of the region’s capital markets and ensuring that Asia-Pacific can voice a strong and balanced presence in global financial discussions. Securities regulators in the region will collaborate to address various issues, such as online investment scams, digital assets, public and private markets, and enhancing cross-border regulation and enforcement cooperation.

IOSCO is an international organization composed of securities regulators from around the world, recognized as the global standard-setter for the securities industry. Its members come from over 130 jurisdictions, overseeing more than 95% of the world’s securities markets. The Asia-Pacific Regional Committee is one of four regional committees established by IOSCO, focusing on securities regulation issues within the region. It is made up of 22 jurisdictions from Asia-Pacific and 10 non-voting members.
