Coin World News: According to monitoring by 1M AI News, Arm has broken its 35-year tradition of only licensing architectures and released its first self-developed chip, the AGI CPU, targeting Agent AI cloud inference scenarios. The chip features up to 136 cores with 300W power consumption and uses TSMC's 3nm process. Meta is the first customer, with 8 companies total including OpenAI, Cloudflare, and SAP having signed contracts. CEO René Haas forecasts the chip will generate $15 billion in annual revenue within five years, bringing Arm's total annual revenue to $25 billion by then. This move signals Arm's transition from a pure architecture licensor to a chip manufacturer, putting it in direct competition with its own customers such as Nvidia and Qualcomm.
