Techub News: According to the Wall Street Journal, Bank of Montreal (BMO) plans to launch a tokenized cash platform, becoming the first bank to offer CME Group's tokenized cash solution. The platform is built on Google Cloud Universal Ledger and enables institutional clients to convert U.S. dollars into tokenized deposits for use in CME's margin trading products, achieving 24/7 secure fund transfers and instant programmable settlement. The service targets regulated financial institutions and joint customers of BMO and CME, applicable to scenarios such as business-to-business payments and liquidity management. The platform is expected to launch in the second half of 2026 and is pending regulatory approval.
