Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks has stated that the company will not use generative AI in its video games, including for major franchises like Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons, despite utilizing it for toy design. This stance emphasizes maintaining a “human element” in their game development, a shift from previous suggestions where AI integration seemed inevitable. The decision follows fan backlash over past instances of AI-generated art in D&D and Magic products, leading to strict guidelines against it.
