International Paper announced its definitive agreement to sell its Global Cellulose Fibers (GCF) business unit to American Industrial Partners for approximately $1.5 billion. This strategic move aims to sharpen the company’s focus on its core operations and expanding sustainable packaging solutions. The GCF business, which generated $2.8 billion in 2024 revenue, produces fluff pulp for hygiene products and specialty pulp for industrial applications.
