Recently, the Ministry of Natural Resources issued the “2026 Natural Resources Standardization Work Key Points” (hereinafter referred to as the “Key Points”). Following the principles of “optimizing the system, streamlining existing stock, and strictly controlling new additions,” it outlined 10 key tasks across four areas to promote the shift of natural resource standards from quantity and scale to quality and efficiency.

Among these, in deepening standardization reform and improving the working mechanism, the “Key Points” specify three main tasks: First, thoroughly implement national standardization reform requirements, optimize the procedures for standard development and revision, and improve the management and operation mechanism of the national standards committee, including adjustments to the standardization technical organization system; Second, revise and issue the “Natural Resources Standardization Management Measures,” strengthen departmental integration, and improve the “joint development and joint release” mechanism; Third, enhance the coordinated development of technological innovation and standardization, promote linkage between major national scientific and technological projects and standardization, and facilitate the transformation of scientific and technological achievements into high-quality standards.

In strengthening overall planning and layout, the “Key Points” propose: First, issue the “Natural Resources Standard System (2026),” improve the framework of the natural resources standard system, and strengthen the coordinated layout of standards related to business support, technical methods, and basic general standards to build a new type of standard system; Second, enhance the construction of “one map” (integrated data platform), and accelerate the development of standards for marine carbon sinks, agricultural land, and other special areas, including standards related to data, platforms, and scenarios.
