Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Zamir issued a statement on the 21st, saying that Israel’s joint military operations with the United States against Iran are “at the halfway point.” Zamir stated that three weeks into the military campaign, the IDF has caused “broad weakening” of Iran and has gradually achieved systematic progress in the military, economic, and governmental levels. Iran’s current situation is more dangerous, with a “lack of effective air defense capabilities.” Zamir said, “We are halfway there, but the direction is very clear… We will continue to fight for our freedom and future.” He also announced that he approved a plan for the IDF’s Northern Command to maintain a “frontline defense posture,” with the IDF taking proactive, preemptive actions to eliminate targets that pose a “threat to civilians” in Israel.
