Over 100 countries and regions will participate in the 2026 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference

China News Service Beijing, March 18 (Reporter Chen Hang) The 2026 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference will be held in Beijing from March 25 to 29, featuring over 100 events. It is expected to attract more than 1,000 guests from over 100 countries and regions.

Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology Vice Minister Lin Xin revealed this information at a press conference held in Beijing on the 18th.

The forum will highlight the expansion of international science and technology innovation centers. She stated that Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei will jointly host the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Collaborative Innovation and High-Quality Development Forum and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Technology Transfer Results Matchmaking Conference, release policies to deepen cooperation among the three regions, promote innovation collaboration and industrial cooperation, and advance deep integration of key industrial chains and clusters.

The forum will emphasize high-level scientific and technological openness and cooperation. She mentioned that this year’s forum will implement bilateral and multilateral international cooperation framework agreements, hold multiple themed forums, and release the “Open Science International Cooperation Action Plan.” Special forums will be held on frontier fields such as 6G, brain-computer interfaces, and cell and gene therapy to explore technological innovation and industrial applications.

Beijing Vice Mayor Jin Wei stated that the forum will feature an opening ceremony and plenary session, along with 60 parallel forums, 21 of which are inaugural. Topics include fundamental research areas such as quantum technology and lunar and planetary space development. The forum will also debut the “2025 Global Engineering Frontiers” report and unveil major achievements like the “Top 10 Scientific Advances in China for 2025.”

Jin Wei said that the forum will promote widespread application of artificial intelligence. An AI “translator” will be on duty throughout the event, expanding from Chinese and English to include French, Russian, and six other languages, enabling seamless communication among international guests. A robot restaurant and bar will open its doors, moving from making coffee alone last year to collaborating on meal sets this year. A robot band will also deliver exciting performances.

The Zhongguancun Forum was founded in 2007 and has the theme of “Innovation and Development” as its permanent focus. It is a national-level platform in China for global scientific and technological innovation exchange and cooperation. (End)
