Chicago soybean meal futures up 3.2%, corn and wheat up about 2.7% at most
On Wednesday (March 18), during the New York late trading session, the Bloomberg Grain Classification Index rose 1.69% to 31.6553 points. It continued to climb since 20:00 Beijing time, reaching a daily high of 31.7746 points at 01:38 (less than 30 minutes before the Federal Reserve announced the FOMC rate decision statement). CBOT corn futures increased by 2.09%, CBOT wheat futures rose by 2.67%, CBOT soybean futures gained 0.58%, soybean meal futures increased by 3.21%, and soybean oil futures fell by 0.71%. CBOT lean hog futures declined by 0.32%, live cattle futures rose by 0.22%, and feeder cattle futures decreased by 0.06%. ICE raw sugar futures increased by 2.56%, ICE white sugar futures rose by 2.77%. ICE Arabica coffee futures fell by 1.54%, Coffee “C” futures declined by 0.75%. Robusta coffee futures increased by 1.39%. New York cocoa futures dropped 3.40%, to $3,235 per ton. London cocoa futures declined by 1.44%. Chicago WCE canola futures fell by 0.38%. ICE cotton futures decreased by 0.10%.
