People’s Financial News, March 19 — Recently, a surge in memory prices has swept across the globe. A reporter’s investigation at Shenzhen Huaqiangbei Electronics Market found that both essential office computers and high-end gaming consoles have seen significant cost increases due to soaring memory prices. A vendor stated, “The cheapest Kingston 16GB standard RAM (basic model) was around 200 yuan last April or May. Now, it’s roughly 800 yuan. 32GB memory used to cost 800 yuan, but now it might be 3,800 yuan, an increase of about 300%.” The doubling of memory prices has directly driven up the overall cost of computers. Faced with this situation, budget-conscious users are becoming more meticulous with their spending and are even turning to the secondhand market for alternatives.
