Abstract generation in progress

Recently, Jinko Solar signed a 124MW supply agreement for Tiger Neo 3.0 high-efficiency photovoltaic modules with a well-known energy developer in the UK. The entire order will be used for large ground-mounted solar projects in the UK, marking another significant achievement for Jinko Solar’s deep engagement in the UK photovoltaic market and its contribution to Europe’s energy transition.

As one of the earliest markets worldwide to achieve grid parity for photovoltaics, the UK has been continuously increasing renewable energy deployment in recent years, accelerating its energy structure transformation. However, the local climate, characterized by frequent overcast and rainy days and relatively mild sunlight resources throughout the year, along with the ground station projects’ pursuit of lower LCOE (Levelized Cost of Electricity) and long-term reliability, imposes strict requirements on the overall performance of photovoltaic modules. Data shows that over 85% of the year in the UK is cloudy or rainy, with poor sunlight conditions most of the time. To address these challenges, the Tiger Neo 3.0 modules, based on N-type TOPCon technology and featuring four core advantages, precisely meet the deep needs of UK ground station projects:

1. Outstanding low-light response capability, enhancing power generation at all times

Given the frequent overcast weather and dispersed sunlight resources in the UK, the Tiger Neo 3.0 modules exhibit excellent low-light performance, maintaining 95%-98% of their relative power output under low irradiance conditions. This means that during dawn, dusk, and cloudy weather, the modules can maximize scattering light capture, effectively extending the station’s effective power generation time and significantly increasing the project’s lifetime energy yield.

2. High power density design, overcoming land resource constraints

Land is precious in the UK, and large-scale stations need to achieve higher capacity on limited land. The Tiger Neo 3.0 modules reach a maximum efficiency of over 24.8%, with front-side power output of 650-670W. With higher power density per unit area, they can increase installed capacity within the same land footprint, reduce BOS costs such as mounting structures, cables, and installation, and help achieve a lower LCOE for the project.

3. Reliable performance throughout the lifecycle, aligning with long-term station revenue goals

Equipped with strict quality control systems, the Tiger Neo 3.0 modules undergo rigorous testing against salt spray, ammonia, and other harsh conditions, enabling them to withstand the high humidity and strong winds typical of the UK coastal areas. Additionally, with less than 1% first-year degradation, a linear degradation of only -0.35%, and a 30-year linear power warranty, they ensure stable and efficient operation throughout the project’s lifecycle, providing investors with assured returns.

This successful signing not only demonstrates deep mutual trust between Jinko Solar and its UK partners but also reflects global recognition of the Tiger Neo 3.0 modules as a preferred solution for ground-mounted solar projects. With outstanding product performance and comprehensive service systems, Jinko Solar will continue to contribute Chinese wisdom and solutions to the global carbon neutrality process through efficient, safe, and economical products.
