# One Sentence That Could Elevate You to the Middle Class

You're afraid when facing someone because you've developed greed in your heart. You're afraid when facing someone of high status and power because subconsciously you believe they can bring you resources. You're afraid when facing a beautiful girl because subconsciously you feel you can't handle her. You experience social anxiety around unfamiliar people because your expectations are too high—you're afraid they won't like you. You only feel fear when you believe the other person can bring you something, because you're afraid of losing those benefits and ending up desolate.

So the solution is actually simple. There's just one way to improve yourself: I can live well even without getting these things. For example, when I talk to my boss, I'm not trying to get his approval or please him for some benefit. If he doesn't approve of me, I'll still live well. When I actively approach a beautiful woman, I'm not trying to be with her—just making a friend. If she doesn't want to be with me, I can still live perfectly well. Blur your objectives, lighten your attachment to gains and losses, and your greed will diminish, and your fear will disappear. Without desire comes strength. Being indifferent, recognizing the greed in your own heart, and reducing it—lowering our own expectations will help you live with greater ease and confidence. Come on, friends, wishing you all to get better and better.
