Gourd Robot Completes $120 Million Series B1 Funding to Accelerate Building Native Embodied Intelligence Technology Base

The robotics industry gets another boost. According to Xinmin Evening News, Gourd Robot has completed $120 million in Series B1 funding. Following its $100 million Series A funding in 2025, Gourd Robot’s two rounds of financing total $220 million. This round attracted top industry investors, including Synstellation Capital, Didi, Meituan Longzhu, and other leading industry players; strategic investors such as Borui Capital, Joyoung Home, Yongning Gaoxin, BAIC Industry Investment, Jiukun Venture Capital, Xinlian Capital, and Yary Capital; as well as top-tier financial institutions like Jinqiu Fund, Xingrui Capital, Chuxin Capital, Gengxin Capital, Yunbai Capital, and Meihua Venture Capital. Additionally, existing major shareholders Hillhouse Capital, Vertex Growth Fund under Temasek Singapore, Linear Capital, Hexuan Capital, Huangpu River Capital, Wuyuan Capital, and Meihua Venture Capital all participated with oversubscribed investments.

From computing power to scenarios, everything is covered

As the “greatest common divisor” of the entire robotics industry, covering all categories from technological R&D to large-scale mass production, Gourd Robot addresses three major market needs: “mass-produced robotic products, ubiquitous innovative applications, and general embodied intelligent robots for the future.” It has built a comprehensive product system spanning chips, algorithms, and software, with a full range of products from 5 to 560 TOPS computing power. The company’s products cover all scenarios, including humanoid robots, wheeled and legged robots, quadruped robot dogs, service and companion robots, and logistics AMRs, meeting end-side computing demands. It also connects cutting-edge technological innovation with mass production, forming a complete chain. Over the past year, Gourd Robot has deepened collaborations with leading industry clients, continuously creating industry benchmark products in core scenarios such as vacuum cleaners, drones, robot dogs, and desktop companions: helping Yunqi Xiaoyao 002 pioneer the era of AI dual-vision perception in vacuum cleaners; assisting Ying Shi Insta360 in developing the world’s first panoramic drone Yingling Antigravity A1, redefining flight intelligence; and supporting Weitadong in launching intelligent companion robot dogs, redefining home smart partners…

Accelerating the development of “embodied intelligence native” technology foundation

Currently, the robotics industry is experiencing a critical phase of rapid technological innovation, explosive scale production, and deep penetration into segmented scenarios. As Horizon’s most important strategic partner in robotics, Gourd Robot maintains a deep cooperative relationship with Horizon, sharing technological roots and strategic alignment. Relying on Horizon’s proven BPU intelligent computing architecture and Foundation Model capabilities validated through millions of units in mass production, Gourd Robot focuses on building a chip, algorithm, and software ecosystem designed for robotic scenario needs, with deep optimization. By creating a “native embodied intelligence” technology foundation that integrates hardware and software, and establishing a new computing paradigm of soft-hard synergy and an end-to-cloud full-chain development platform—from simulation validation to physical deployment—it continues to lower industry development barriers and accelerate the evolution and large-scale deployment of robotic intelligence.

Embodied intelligence creates a new growth market

According to Xinmin Evening News, throughout 2025, the embodied intelligence sector has completed over 310 funding rounds, with more than 100 exceeding 100 million yuan each. The investors involved in embodied intelligence are also highly diversified.

Industry insiders point out that the recent “startup wave” in embodied intelligence is a continuation of the “large model investment trend”—AI is an inevitable trend, but when model capabilities will translate into actual productivity remains uncertain. The resources and funding needed before actual productivity is achieved are still unknown. Embodied intelligence is a subset of AI application, representing a new form of productivity that will bring entirely new incremental markets. Each real-world application scenario involves rational decision-making by end users.

Compared to general large language models with hundreds of billions of parameters, embodied intelligence models typically have only a few billion to tens of billions of parameters, with significantly lower training and inference costs. Capital flowing into large models and AI sectors naturally extends to various levels of embodied intelligence, applying the capabilities of these models to interaction, motion, and operation intelligence.
