CITIC Securities Ao Chong: The Bull Market in Base Metals Is Far From Over, Pullbacks Are Entry Opportunities

CITIC Securities’ Chief Analyst of Non-Ferrous Metals, Ao Chong, believes that the long-term trend has not yet ended, but short-term risks are rapidly accumulating. For investors, the current strategy is more appropriate to be “hold but not blindly chase highs.” If prices rise too quickly, consider phased profit-taking; adjustment is the key entry point to watch. Ao Chong further pointed out that stock selection should be based on the market stage: when the trend is established, leading companies have the strongest certainty; investors with higher risk appetite can focus on growth companies with the logic of “volume increase and price rise.” At the same time, he also suggests paying attention to “divergence” trading opportunities, which often indicate a stage-specific positioning window when commodity prices continue to rise but stock prices do not.
