To thoroughly implement the work arrangements of the Jiaxing Regulatory Branch of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission and higher authorities, effectively safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of financial consumers, and enhance the public’s financial literacy and risk awareness, during the “3.15” International Consumer Rights Day, CITIC Bank Jiaxing Branch organized multiple financial consumer protection education and publicity activities with the theme “Clear Financial Networks, Protect Peace of Mind in Consumption.” These activities covered various scenarios, dimensions, and featured approaches. By precisely targeting key groups and integrating diverse scenarios, the campaign promoted consumer protection knowledge into communities, enterprises, schools, and rural areas, achieving positive social feedback and solid results.
High-level coordination and strong deployment
Building a foundation through nationwide collaboration
Before the event, CITIC Bank Jiaxing Branch strictly aligned with the requirements of the regulatory authorities for “frontline leadership command, full participation of institutions, and comprehensive coverage of personnel,” as well as the work arrangements of the Hangzhou Branch. The activity was treated as a key project for the first quarter, with comprehensive efforts to lay a solid foundation for its implementation.
The branch established a special leadership team, personally led and deployed by the branch leader responsible for consumer protection. Department heads and branch managers served as core members, clearly defining responsibilities and detailed task lists. A work pattern was formed of “branch coordination, departmental support, branch implementation, and full staff participation,” ensuring orderly progress and efficient execution. Additionally, considering the financial consumption characteristics of Jiaxing, detailed implementation plans were developed, publicity themes clarified, and activity formats tailored to local needs.
To ensure effective implementation, the branch strengthened resource support and supervision. Consumer protection promotional materials such as manuals, posters, and short videos were produced and distributed to all branches and outlets. The consumer protection department established a regular supervision mechanism, tracking progress in real-time, coordinating solutions to issues during the process, and ensuring all publicity requirements were thoroughly met.
Joint efforts between police and banks to protect livelihoods
Targeted services for new residents
Focusing on the requirements of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission for strengthening financial support and knowledge dissemination among new residents, CITIC Bank Jiaxing Branch deepened police-bank cooperation. On March 12, the branch partnered with local anti-fraud police and SF Express to successfully hold a special promotional event titled “Clear Financial Networks, Protect Peace of Mind in Consumption.”
Deputy Branch Manager Nie Qiang attended and delivered an opening speech. This event was an important practice of the branch’s commitment to serving the people and supporting new employment groups. Through police-bank collaboration and government-enterprise cooperation, professional financial safety knowledge was provided to courier workers, helping them improve risk prevention capabilities and ensuring safe consumption and work.
At the scene, police officers from the Criminal Investigation Brigade’s Anti-Fraud Center of Xiuzhou District explained the essence of scams through real cases, reminding couriers to remember the motto “Don’t trust easily, don’t reveal information, don’t transfer money,” and to choose legitimate financial institutions for financial transactions.
Materials such as consumer protection manuals, anti-fraud tip cards, and online financial safety guides were distributed on-site, allowing courier workers to consult and learn at any time, turning one event into long-term benefits.
Innovative features highlight engagement
Nationwide participation creates momentum
CITIC Bank Jiaxing Branch adheres to an integrated approach of “consumer protection + culture + festivals + scenarios,” guiding branches to combine local characteristics, regional resources, and festival occasions. They innovate publicity methods and create特色活动 (special activities), forming a lively scene of “each branch with its own特色 (特色), each event with its亮点 (highlight).” This shifts consumer protection from “one-way dissemination” to “two-way interaction,” upgrading from “passive acceptance” to “active participation.”
Recently, branches in Jiashan, Tongxiang, and Economic Development Zone used folk activities as carriers to carry out themed events of “Folk Customs + Consumer Protection.” Jiashan Branch engaged with the Lantern Festival market, integrating online financial safety and anti-fraud skills into lantern riddles, making learning fun. Tongxiang Branch partnered with Xinhua Bookstore to create three zones: “Consumer Protection Promotion Area,” “Riddle Interaction Area,” and “Scenario Simulation Area,” recreating scam scenes for interactive teaching and strengthening citizens’ anti-fraud memory. The Economic Development Zone Branch focused on elderly groups with a “Silver Age Learning” event, explaining holiday scam prevention, cooking tangyuan (sweet rice balls) with seniors, and conveying financial warmth.
In celebration of International Women’s Day, Haining, Pinghu, and Economic Development Zone branches launched “Festival + Consumer Protection” themed activities. These allowed female clients to learn knowledge and feel care in a relaxed atmosphere, enhancing their risk awareness.
Nanhu Branch innovated with a “Literary + Consumer Protection” model, collaborating with Nanhu Cultural Center to hold “Opera Stage Talks on Anti-Fraud,” integrating consumer protection knowledge and anti-fraud skills into classic Yue opera segments, enabling the public to enjoy performances while learning.
Taking “Learn from Lei Feng Day” as an opportunity, the branch’s business department partnered with Bianshan Community to carry out volunteer services, providing financial consulting, bank card loss reporting guidance, and other convenient services, practicing the original intention of serving the people.
Xiuzhou Branch focused on the dense industrial parks in its jurisdiction, organizing “Consumer Protection into Enterprises and Parks” activities aligned with resumption of work and production, supporting enterprise recovery.
Haining Salt Branch based on local conditions, used outlets as main platforms for daily publicity, simultaneously entering communities, villages, and supermarkets, conducting targeted education for key groups, promoting consumer protection knowledge at the grassroots level and achieving full coverage.
Long-term mechanisms strengthen results
Financial services for the people remain true to original aspirations
Through nationwide coordination, precise coverage, and innovative formats, the “3.15” consumer protection publicity campaign by CITIC Bank Jiaxing Branch effectively improved public financial literacy and risk prevention capabilities. Moving forward, the branch will take this as a new starting point to establish sound long-term mechanisms, continuously strengthening the safety line of financial consumer protection. They will maintain regular education, integrating consumer protection into the entire service process, and innovating formats based on key dates and hotspots; focus on vulnerable groups such as the elderly and new residents, optimizing targeted education plans to enhance effectiveness; deepen police-bank, government-bank, and social-bank cooperation to build a shared and collaborative framework; strengthen full-process consumer protection review, strictly implement the eight consumer rights protections, and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the people with more practical measures and better services, contributing to high-quality local economic development.
