Chan Mo-po departs for Beijing this afternoon to attend the 15th Five-Year Plan seminar and other activities

Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po will depart for Beijing this afternoon to attend various events, during which he will also meet with several relevant central government departments and financial regulatory agencies.

Tomorrow, Chan will attend the “15th Five-Year Plan Launch Seminar” and deliver a keynote speech. The seminar includes specialized discussion sessions focusing on how Hong Kong’s advantages can serve the needs of the country and how Hong Kong can better support the construction of the country’s modern industrial system.

On March 22 and 23, Chan will participate in the China Development High-Level Forum and related activities, with the theme “China in the 15th Five-Year Plan: High-Quality Development and Co-Creating New Opportunities,” and will speak at the forum.

On March 23, Chan will attend the 8th Meeting of the Mainland-Hong Kong Economic and Trade Cooperation Committee. The meeting will review the work carried out in the economic and trade sectors of both regions and discuss the next steps for cooperation.

Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Christopher Hui, and Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Algernon Yau will also depart for Beijing today. Along with the currently visiting Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry Sun Dong, they will accompany Chan to participate in some of the events.
