Vitalik Interprets Ethereum Foundation's New Mission Statement: Will Double Down on Ethereum and Drive It to Become a "Technology Safe Haven"

ChainCatcher News: Vitalik Buterin posted on X platform interpreting the Ethereum Foundation’s new mission statement, “EF Mandate.” He stated that they will double down on Ethereum and are full of anticipation for its future development.

Vitalik Buterin pointed out that Ethereum plays a unique role in the global digital ecosystem. Its mission is to become a “sanctuary technology” to maintain technological sovereignty and promote collaboration in an environment free from coercion and domination. The core goal of Ethereum is to ensure that no individual, organization, or ideology can achieve absolute control in cyberspace, and to provide users with an “exit mechanism.” The Ethereum Foundation, as the network’s “guardian,” will continue to focus on advancing the CROPS principles—censorship resistance, capture resistance, open source, privacy, and security—and prioritize decentralization, verifiability, network activity, and security at the protocol layer. It will also promote upgrades like account abstraction to reduce reliance on intermediaries.

At the application layer, the Ethereum Foundation aims to create a “zero option” user experience that balances security, privacy, and user autonomy, and will work with broader ecosystem projects to mutually support the development of the Ethereum ecosystem.
