According to the People’s Bank of China, in 2025, the amount of commercial bill acceptance in China reached 42.7 trillion yuan, with discounting transactions totaling 33.9 trillion yuan. As of the end of 2025, the outstanding balance of commercial bill acceptances was 21.2 trillion yuan, an increase of 7.2% compared to the end of 2024; the outstanding discount balance was 16.5 trillion yuan, up 11.2% from the end of 2024. The People’s Bank of China released data on the operation of the financial market in 2025, showing that in 2025, 23,200 small and micro enterprises issued bills, with bill issuance totaling 31.1 trillion yuan.
