Customs seize American black bear hide products
According to the General Administration of Customs, recently, customs officers at Beijing Customs, affiliated with Capital Airport Customs, discovered an abnormality in the security scan image of a passenger’s luggage who chose the “Green Channel” clearance. After opening the luggage for inspection, an animal fur product was found. Identification confirmed that the item was a black bear fur product from the American black bear. The American black bear is a protected species listed in Appendix I of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). Currently, the case has been handed over to anti-smuggling authorities for further handling. (Xinhua News Agency)
