【ChainNews】The Ethereum network experienced a surge of impressive data by the end of 2025. On December 31st, the 7-day moving average of transaction counts on Ethereum surpassed 1.87 million, the highest level on record. It’s worth noting that this achievement even exceeds the peak performance during the 2021 NFT and DeFi boom — when the record was 1.61 million transactions. Even the recent high point on August 9, 2025, with 1.73 million transactions, was far surpassed by this wave of growth.

Not only did transaction activity reach new heights. The number of active addresses on the Ethereum network also hit a new phase high at the end of the year — 728,904. This is the densest level of activity since May 12, 2021. More notably, there was a surge in new addresses: on December 31st, the number of newly added addresses reached 270,160, a scale never seen since early 2018.

From these data points, it’s clear that the Ethereum network demonstrated strong vitality at the end of the year, with both transaction frequency and participation breaking past previous ceilings.
