ngl this engagement thing hits different when you're broke from mining losses back in the day... but yeah, the algorithm's basically a TPS bottleneck—if you ain't pushing transactions (replies, comments, whatever) your signal just gets congested and dies. seen it happen to so many projects with zero community presence, just... radio silence. tragic stuff.
