Spiral launches real Bitcoin address: sending Bitcoin is as easy as sending an email
Spiral is an independent entity under Block that has launched a new standard based on BIP 353 — the Human Bitcoin Address (HBA), designed to simplify Bitcoin payments. HBA converts complex cryptographic strings into human-readable addresses, such as ₿conorokus@twelve.cash, making transactions as intuitive as sending an email. The system securely maps these human-friendly names to payment information using DNS infrastructure, enabling seamless, private, and censorship-resistant transactions across various Bitcoin Layer 1 and Layer 2 protocols. This is in stark contrast to network-specific and third-party server-dependent lightning addresses. Wallets like Phoenix have already implemented support for HBA, and Cash App is also developing integration solutions.
