$456 million TUSD reserve fund missing case: Dubai court freezes related assets, Sun Yuchen publicly pursues progress in the lawsuit.

[Coin World] On November 27, a media briefing held at the Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong brought a dispute involving $456 million in stablecoin reserves into the spotlight. TRON founder Justin Sun appeared at the event, revealing key details for the first time about the illegal appropriation of TUSD reserve assets—this cross-border prosecution battle has moved from behind the scenes to the forefront.

At the briefing, Sun Yuchen particularly thanked the ruling of the Dubai International Financial Centre Court ( DIFC Court )'s Digital Economy Court. This court, which specializes in emerging financial disputes, issued an indefinite global asset freeze order against the involved party Aria Commodities DMCC on October 17. Court documents indicate that there are “significant matters pending trial” regarding the involved funds—from forged authorization documents to violations of fiduciary duties, from illegal transfer of reserves to cross-border money laundering activities, the list of accusations is shocking.

It is also worth noting that the court requires all relevant individuals and entities to fully disclose the flow of funds, otherwise they will face severe legal consequences. Sun Yuchen stated that the team is actively tracking down the whereabouts of the missing funds globally, with a clear goal: to recover the full amount and demand that any wrongdoers return the corresponding reserve assets.

This case is not only an internal crisis for the TUSD project but also reflects the industry's pain points in stablecoin reserve management. When $456 million in reserves can “evaporate” within an authorized chain, and when judicial prosecution requires collaboration across multiple jurisdictions, the entire cryptocurrency industry's custody safety system is undergoing a stress test. The ruling by the Dubai court may become an important reference case for stablecoin compliance governance.
