Eclipse founder Neel Somani has stepped down from the position of Executive Chairman

PANews December 30 News, according to The Block, Ethereum Layer2 protocol Eclipse founder Neel Somani has stepped down from his role as Executive Chairman, effective October 2025. He stated that this move reflects his desire to fully dedicate himself to machine learning and other academic research fields. This departure comes at a time when Eclipse is undergoing significant product and leadership changes, including a strategic shift towards application development. Prior to this, Somani collaborated with the board to lead the company’s strategic shift towards application development and appointed Sydney Huang as CEO. Along with the appointment of Sydney Huang, Eclipse announced it will focus on building a flagship application on its Layer2 infrastructure. In a recent article, Sydney Huang wrote: “Eclipse’s main focus must be on one application. Not several, and not all deployed applications. This application will be announced next month.”
