The probability of Woz becoming the next Federal Reserve Chairman has surged, with Trump expressing support for him this Friday.

On December 14, the probability of former Federal Reserve official Kevin Warsh becoming the next Federal Reserve Chair surged. In the prediction market Polymarket, the probability of Warsh being nominated by Trump as Fed Chair increased from 7% to 38%, while the probability of Kevin Hasset, Director of the National Economic Council, being nominated decreased from a high of 85% to 52%. On the prediction market Kalshi, the probability of Warsh being nominated rose from 10% to 41%, and Hasset’s nomination probability dropped from a high of 81% to 51%. When asked this Friday afternoon if Warsh is the top candidate for Fed Chair, Trump said, “Yes, I think he is, I think both Klevins are great.” Trump then added, “And I believe there are several other excellent candidates as well.” JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon previously expressed support for Warsh’s appointment as the next Fed Chair, calling him a “great chairman.”
