Boeing launches development of a replacement model for the 737 MAX in a bid to regain market share.
Jin10 reported on September 30 that on September 29 local time, Boeing (BA.N) has begun developing a new narrow-body aircraft to replace the 737 MAX series. According to informed sources, earlier this year, Boeing's CEO Dave Calhoun met with senior executives at Rolls-Royce in the UK to discuss the possibility of collaboration on a new engine. At the same time, Boeing has appointed an executive with experience in developing new aircraft models to oversee its commercial airplane product line. Reports say that Boeing aims to leverage the new model to rebuild its market presence and compete with Airbus.
