美國週二晚間，川普同意暫停對伊朗的攻擊。然而，這項「雙邊」停火協議的前提是伊朗同意重新開放荷姆茲海峽。伊朗外交部長在聲明中表示，只要所有攻擊停止，德黑蘭同意在未來兩週內重新開放水道。媒體報道稱，以色列也已同意停火。
但自停火協議宣布以來，海峽的整體交通狀況仍未改善。川普週三表示，在德黑蘭完全遵守「真正的協議」之前，美國軍隊將繼續部署在伊朗及其周邊地區。他還警告說，任何違約行為都將引發前所未有的軍事回應。
