该指数综合市场波动率、动量、社交媒体活跃度、市场主导率及搜索趋势等指标，用以衡量市场情绪，数值区间为 0（极度恐惧）至 100（极度贪婪）。当前读数显示市场已进入极端恐惧区间。
分析认为，情绪持续走弱与 2025 年 10 月 10 日（“10/10”事件） 密切相关。当日加密市场发生历史最大规模清算事件，超过 190 亿美元 杠杆仓位在 24 小时内被强制平仓，涉及超过 160 万个账户。比特币当日下跌约 14%，而山寨币跌幅更为剧烈，暴露出衍生品市场流动性不足与高杠杆结构性风险，市场信心至今尚未完全恢复。
