Trump has not yet contacted the mayor of Los Angeles about the wildfire issue, but officials are discussing the visit.

On January 13, Jinshi Data reported that, according to Politico, officials in Los Angeles County said on Sunday that they had invited Trump to visit the still-raging wildfires in Los Angeles and discuss federal relief issues, but had not yet contacted him directly. Catherine Barker, a Republican supervisor representing the Altadena area ravaged by the Eaton fire, said she had written to Trump on Saturday and had been in discussions with “senior officials in the incoming government,” but these discussions did not involve Trump. Barker said, “Clearly, this is ongoing work, but it seems to me, without a doubt, that we will get in touch with him.” Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, a Democrat, also said she had not contacted Trump. Meanwhile, Trump continues to criticize California officials’ response to the wildfires that began last Tuesday.
