Odaily News Sweden's IT system provider Miljödata was attacked by Ransomware, with the Hacker demanding 1.5 BTC (about 170,000 USD) to prevent the leak of sensitive information. The company serves about 80% of Swedish municipal authorities, with around 200 municipal and regional services affected, and some universities and private institutions also impacted. SVT states that all services are expected to be restored by this Friday. Affected institutions include Örebro University and Lund University, both of which have stated that it is currently uncertain whether personal data has been leaked. Swedish Civil Defense Minister Carl-Oskar Bohlin has called for enhanced overall cybersecurity and hinted at advancing a new cybersecurity bill. (Protos)
