Navi AI company invested $6.7 million (approximately 9.65 billion KRW) to launch an innovative artificial intelligence platform for pilot training. The platform aims to improve the efficiency and safety of pilot training by analyzing flight data. Founded in 2024, Navi transforms each aircraft into a data source, integrating aircraft data, training materials, weather, aircraft history, and traffic information, providing real-time feedback after each flight. This allows pilots, instructors, and flight schools to continuously monitor training effectiveness and safety performance.

Navi founder and CEO Nikola Kostic said, “Aviation safety has significantly improved over the past few decades, but most improvements are reactive. Navi AI converts each flight operation and instruction into learning data, guiding subsequent flights to be safer and more efficient.” Navi’s AI does not directly make flight decisions; its data is used to assist human judgment.

The Navi platform enables pilots to interact with a situational awareness AI assistant to access safety procedures and tutorials relevant to the flight scenario. This technology has recently been piloted at well-known flight schools such as Sling Flight Academy and Amber Ridge Aerospace University.

Initial investors include multiple investment firms such as BVVC and New Vista Capital, as well as the U.S. Department of Defense and United Airlines Venture Fund. The Department of Defense is providing funding support to apply Navi technology at the Air Force Test Pilot School. The technology will be customized for deployment at the U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School operating the T-38 “Talon” trainer aircraft. The launch of Navi AI is expected to be a significant turning point in reshaping pilot training paradigms.
