这一计划建立在过去一年的技术铺垫之上。2025年初，X已与Visa合作测试数字钱包与点对点支付功能。近期上线的XChat则引入端到端加密通信，被马斯克形容为“接近比特币级别安全”的隐私保护方案，为金融功能奠定基础。
自2022年收购并更名X以来，马斯克持续将平台从传统社交网络扩展为多功能超级应用，涵盖人工智能工具、长视频内容与支付基础设施。尽管XMoney是否会整合加密资产仍未披露，但前CEO Linda Yaccarino曾提到，X未来还将提供投资与交易相关服务，这意味着数字资产有望成为其金融生态的重要组成部分。
