Golden Finance reports that U.S. President Trump has narrowed the Fed Chair race down to “two Kevins.” He previously indicated a preference for either former Fed Governor Kevin Wash or National Economic Council Chair Kevin Hasset to lead the Fed next year. According to the latest data from prediction market Kalshi, the probability of Kevin Wash being elected as the next Fed Chair has increased significantly by 25 basis points, now at 39%, while the chance of Kevin Hasset winning has decreased by 18 basis points, now at 54%. Another candidate, Christopher Waller, has only a 5% chance of being elected.

After his recent meeting, Trump stated that Wash is currently his top choice, but he gave high praise to both candidates. They both support lowering interest rates and believe rates should be at or below 1%. The market has already factored in a more dovish outlook for Fed policy.
