Five Key Future Development Directions for Web3 Wallets

The Future Form of Web3 Wallets: 5 Key Development Directions
1️⃣ Wallet + AI Agent = Smart Wallet
Deeply integrating AI Agents into wallets to achieve intelligence.
Many wallets are experimenting with this, but the market is still largely vacant.
2️⃣ Wallet + DeFi = Wealth Management Wallet
Needs to achieve automatic yield generation on balances, truly realizing on-chain Yu’e Bao.
OKX Pay has made a great attempt—deposit stablecoins, use stablecoins, balances can automatically earn interest, just like Yu’e Bao.
3️⃣ Wallet + Crypto Card = Spending Wallet
The carrier is the U Card; recharge with stablecoins and you can use it for everyday spending.
Currently, Bitget Wallet does this best—not only is the U Card built-in, but there’s also a marketplace service providing usage scenarios.
MetaMask has done something similar, launching its own U Card and focusing on the travel scene.
4️⃣ Wallet + Web3 Payments = Payment Wallet
Stablecoin payment penetration is already very high.
But the current market mainly focuses on B2B payments—that is, payments between enterprises.
Consumer-side payments are still not widespread; BitPay, which started early, already has a relatively broad merchant network.
5️⃣ Wallet + Chain Abstraction = Chainless Wallet
Wallets are still too complicated; ordinary users need to understand many concepts to really use them.
For example, understanding private keys, gas, cross-chain, etc.
Currently, Particle Network has become the industry infrastructure as a chain abstraction service provider.
Among these 5 major directions, the most promising is the combination of wallets and AI Agents.
Looking across the market, there are not many wallets integrated with AI. They can be roughly divided into three categories:
One is the standard-building group, represented by Coinbase Wallet, which has built an open platform, AI toolkit, and x402 payment protocol;
Another is the AI service integration group, represented by Bitget Wallet, which leverages AI capabilities for token analysis, trading signals, etc.;
The last is the system reform group, represented by Talisman Wallet, which is building the next generation of AI-native wallets.
Looking into Talisman Wallet’s strategy:
Mainly using built-in AI Agents to optimize and automate user decisions, including trading and DeFi operations.
Talisman’s AI service is co-developed with Rizzo, and their collaboration was mainly facilitated by DNA Fund.
Talisman itself is a multi-chain wallet, mainly providing product direction, user experience, and wallet integration; Team Rizzo is an AI Agent development team responsible for building and maintaining subnet infrastructure.
Perhaps because TGE is approaching, there is some buzz in the community.
But in the long run, it still comes down to the product itself.
With the addition of AI capabilities, is it possible for existing wallets to leap into the era of smart wallets?
It’s definitely something to look forward to. Hopefully, the wallet sector will have its “Apple moment” in the future!
