The founder of Ethena Labs praises the response of CEX to fully compensate affected stablecoin holders.
[Ethena Labs founder praises CEX's response to fully compensate affected stablecoin holders] Last week, Ethena Labs' stablecoins (USDe and USDtb) experienced significant Fluctuation. The catalyst for the event appears to be a combination of President Trump announcing additional tariffs on China and the liquidation of encryption assets on CEX. On October 12, CEX confirmed that it had reviewed the affected accounts and promised to fully compensate for the unfair liquidation losses, estimated at a total of $283 million. Today, Ethena founder Guy Young expressed gratitude for CEX's quick response through X: "I want to commend CEX for the speed at which they addressed their platform losses. The scale of user compensation this time is unprecedented. This is the first step in rebuilding user trust, and that trust will gradually be restored over time. Now is not the time for mutual accusations. CEX did not shy away from this incident but rather faced it head-on and provided solutions immediately, which is commendable." He also added, "To eliminate any concerns regarding the relationship between Ethena and CEX, our partnership remains strong and has not been affected by last weekend's events. We will continue to support each other's products. We are also providing support within our capabilities to update their oracle methods and risk parameters in order to better manage future extreme tail risk scenarios. Both parties will provide updates on this solution later this week."
