Market Cap 1st: Bitcoin (BTC)

Bitcoin has mainly fluctuated in the range of the 95,000 dollar range and the 98,000 dollar range this week. It temporarily fell to the 94,000 dollar range on the 12th, but returned to nearly 98,000 dollars on the 13th.

One major focus was the release of the US Consumer Price Index (CPI) as a significant factor. The CPI for January, announced by the US Department of Labor on the 12th, rose by 3.0% compared to the same month last year, exceeding market expectations.

As a result, this confirms the cautious attitude of Chairman Powell of the FRB towards rate cuts, and Bitcoin temporarily showed a drop of nearly ▲400,000 yen in yen terms.

In addition, there was a noticeable movement by companies to purchase Bitcoin. On the evening of the 10th, MicroStrategy announced an additional purchase of Bitcoin. This time, they purchased about 7,633 BTC at a cost of approximately 113.2 billion yen, increasing their total holdings to 478,740 BTC.

Additionally, gumi has resolved to purchase 1 billion yen worth of Bitcoin at its board of directors meeting. Metaplanet issued ordinary corporate bonds to raise 4 billion yen, with the majority earmarked for additional Bitcoin purchases. SBC Medical Group Holdings, which operates Shonan Beauty Clinic, also announced its decision to purchase a total of 1 billion yen worth of Bitcoin.

2nd Market Cap: Ethereum (ETH)

Regarding Ethereum, it has been reported that the Hong Kong authorities have recognized it along with Bitcoin as a valid proof of assets for investment immigration applications. According to Hong Kong accountants, a customer used 30 million Hong Kong dollars worth of Ethereum as proof of assets on February 7 and applied for investment immigration to the Hong Kong Immigration Department. It seems that this has been approved.

Additionally, on the 13th, the Ethereum Foundation announced that it had moved a total of over 18 billion yen worth of Ethereum to multiple DeFi (decentralized finance) platforms. The purpose of the transfer is believed to be to increase financial resources by operating Ethereum in DeFi.

3rd in market capitalization: XRP

On the 10th, Ripple announced a partnership with Unicâmbio, a coin exchange provider in Portugal, to enable instant international payments between Portugal and Brazil using XRP.

This week, news related to ETF applications also gained attention. On the 13th, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) acknowledged the 19b-4 submission of Grayscale's XRP Physical ETF and has initiated the review process.

6th Market Cap: Solana (SOL)

There has been progress in the Solana ETF application as well. On the 12th, the U.S. SEC began the review process for Solana's physical ETF, which multiple asset management companies had applied for. In a similar manner to the Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF approval processes, this development follows the path of approval for 21Shares and 4 other companies that submitted listing rule change applications through the exchange Cboe BZX.

In addition, Franklin Templeton, a leading U.S. asset management company with assets under management of $1.5 trillion, announced on the same day that its 'U.S. Government Money Fund (FOBXX)' is now tradable on Solana's blockchain.

Solana describes its blockchain as fast, secure, and censorship-resistant L1 network, explaining that it is widely adopted worldwide as an open infrastructure.
